The dress works best with a woven fabric of light- to medium-weight quality. The fabric can be made of natural fibers (cotton, viscose, silk, linen, wool etc.) or synthetic fibers (polyester, nylon etc.) or a mix. Recommended weaves include plain weave, seer-sucker, poplin, twill, jacquard etc. 

Unsuitable fabric:

Heavy fabrics as well as all knitted fabric types (jersey)
